The focus in a particular year usually follows the Gartner hype cycle. Two years back students were focusing on blockchain projects and last year it was LLMs everywhere.
This years projects focus on working with university units to prototype and test AI capabilities in process automation.
Project #1 : Skill Gap Assessment and Graduate Program Recommendation App
Develop an intuitive, user-friendly web app that identifies skill gaps for prospective learners based on their career goals. The app will provide personalized recommendations for Gies graduate programs and certificates that align with those gaps and add value to the learner’s professional career.
Project #2: AI-Driven Faculty Workload Optimization
This project involves developing an AI-powered solution designed to reduce the administrative and repetitive tasks that consume faculty time, thereby allowing them to focus more on teaching, research, and student engagement.
Project #3: AI-Enhanced Reporting for Technology Adoption Decisions
This project centers on developing an AI-powered financial reporting tool to support decision-making regarding the adoption of new technology solutions within an organization. Students will work with the lead for Gies Educational Innovations and the Gies Technology Adoption Committee, to create a system that automates data analysis and generates insights tailored to evaluating the costs, benefits, and return on investment (ROI) of potential technology investments.
